Some of the kind words my customers have to say about the services I offer.

The RGV325

Hi Dave, just like to say thanks again for the work on the 325.

I was at Cadwell park last weekend for the Suzuki live weekend, loads of RGV250’s out in my group, mine absolutely on another planet to all of them, they where dispatched everywhere like they where 125’s.

Also, plenty of RG500’s out which the 325 powered past down the back straight everytime.

The drive out of the corners is superb, so smooth and rideable, so with the power and how its delivered combined with the better suspension has made for a proper track weapon.

I’ve found my mojo again after 13 years off track mate.

Can’t thank you enough

Regards Dave

Dave has completely transformed the performance of my 350LC. It was low on power before and had terrible flat spots.

After working his magic on the dyno and optimising the fuelling, the bike now pulls a lot stronger and is much smoother through the full rev range.. It’s very quick off the mark in the lower gears but also pulls well up top.

Dave is very easy to deal with, excellent at communicating what needs doing and providing feedback during the job and does exactly what he promises.

I’m very happy indeed with the work on the dyno

Dave has completely rebuilt my RD350 LC – frame, suspension, brakes, electrics, engine and carbs.

Communication was very good and most importantly the quality of the work was fantastic.

I would absolutely recommend him and his first class work.

Dave was easy to deal with and a great guy always happy to help.

Well… I bought a 31k last year and tbh it never ran right and despite my amateur fiddling it got worse so after googling everyone I decided that Dave was the man!

He has completely transformed the bike and gone over the whole thing and at all times kept me informed and up to date with price and good advice.

He was really cost conscious and helpful to suggest the right solution and also went that extra mile to help fix other little problems which were niggles…. a rebuild, a pair of lush stainless steel spannies and 57bhp at the back wheel and I am a happy bunny.

A pleasure to deal with and i can’t wait to get over the running in period before giving it the beans! Thank you Dave – you come thoroughly recommended from me!

My LC sat in a crate as a museum piece since new in 1981, upon buying in December 2017 the next year was spent trying without success to get her to run right.

With Dave of Muttsnuts highly recommended I decided to place her in the hands of an expert!

Dave arranged the collection of the bike and he worked his magic – 6hrs testing everything – 1hr on his dyno, rejetting the carbs and the result is a very smooth power curve.

1st ride and in a word WOW, that is how I remember an LC running, I am still running the bike in but she fly’s, I had not heard that sound as she hit the high revs for many a year.

Some adjustment to my riding technique is needed as been riding Triumph Bonnies for the last 30yrs, which pull from 15mph in any gear, but the LC is like a jet fighter in comparison.

Dave gave a full report on all he found and comes with my high recommendation.

Thanks Dave , excellent service , honest ,  trustworthy and a pleasure to deal with.

It’s very rare to find someone to work on your bike with as much passion , and you know he will treat it like it’s his own bike he’s working on.

I couldn’t recommend Dave and his work highly enough.

Mike / Theddingworth, March 2019

It was a pleasure dealing with Dave right from the outset, his knowledge is well recorded and his friendly advice has proven to be invaluable.

He finished setting up my TZ/RD350LC and getting it right. Not only is he passionate about his work and reputation his prices are incredibly reasonable.

Totally recommended and I will be back. And don’t forget to take some biscuits for him !

The story so far – Took my LC to him last week, just on passing. Thought it was running a tad lean on one cylinder so left it with him.

Went to pick it up today & my gawd, he has cured the slow running, cured the mid range hiccups, feels way crisper, sorted the swinging arm bushes, fitted a new YSS shock, bike is transformed, but… the reason I don’t like him anymore…

The bugger let me have a ride on his hybrid before I rode mine today. Mmmm, 69 geegee’s ypvs lump in a 31K, such smooth power delivery, awesome RS chassis parts, lush!!

Did I mention the smoooooth power delivery, if not, that smooth power delivery is awesome

Then he says take my Elsie out, fair do’s, what a transformation to when I left her, but now I want more I tell you, I want more power captain. Elsie feels a dinosaur in comparison

Seriously though, Dave is a master at his trade, what a grand down to earth bloke, anyone thinking shall I or not, just do it & go & see him!!

Its will be worth your trip, luckily he is just on my doorstep.

So the N1 always felt a bit flat and I just wanted it to be as good as it could be without any engine work. I’d always intended to put a set of pipes on it for the sound as much as anything. The bike was running OK, if a bit smokey and had developed an oil leak. Neutral was almost impossible to find which was a right pita.

Dave ran it up to temp and made sure everything was good before we put the pipes on. I’m using a set of TZ silencers that I had on my TDR and they seem to work ok.
The bike was instantly transformed sounding so much crisper and faster to pick up.

Dave correctly diagnosed the oil leak as the seal behind the oil pump and on inspection he was right it had developed a split somehow allowing two stroke oil into the gearbox causing the clutch to drag. I also fitted a refurbished oil pump.

The difference really is night and day and has transformed the bike.

It really is worth going to him instead of trial and error and the crack is always good.

Be warned though he’s a busy man, you have to book early !

Steve Wass / SpennyMoor, June 2018

Having no experience of 2 stroke bikes i bought a 350LC which i was told by the previous owner needed carbs setup. Contacted Dave to arrange having a dyno session and midrange crossover pipes fitted. When the pipes were fitted it was evident the engine wasnt right with a lack of power, upon further investigation Dave advised a rebuild.

2 weeks later engine rebuilt and dyno run 47bhp and a dollop of midrange that is very addictive. I was so impressed by Dave’s attitude and workmanship his attention to detail was spot on, in fact it was that good he’s currently building my LC hybrid with GSXR 1000 forks, NC29 swingarm and wheels, YPVS motor with Athena 392cc kit and 30mm carbs, cant wait to get on the bugger!!!

Highly recommended as soon as my hybrid is finished

Kev Monagahan / May 2018

I have been putting together a tuned hybrid 350ypvs and the intention was always to put out 70bhp at the rear wheel.

After completion I took the bike to Muttsnuts for final setup, and after some runs on the dyno and some tweaking of the jetting Dave advised not pushing it to get the 70bhp but build on the torque curve.

After a full day at dave’s place I ended up with 66 bhp and a stonking torque curve that propels the bike out of bends and sends the front wheel skywards.

Dave is an extremely knowledgeable guy and was spot on with his predictions for my engine.

Thoroughly recommended.

Dave, AKA Muttsnuts helped me with most of the technical aspects of my RD550LC triple.
His knowledge, precision and skill are top draw.

He also keeps his word.
Dave did the engineers report for the LC triple for DVLA to change the details on the log book.

DVLA lost the paperwork, and Dave with no fuss sent me a duplicate report.

With Dave’s help the bike is now in the running for Special build of the year (Practical Sportsbikes May 2018)

He is “that good”
– I have no hesitation in recommending him.

Mark Graham / Yamark

I used dave to setup my 350 lc hybrid, I had the bike shipped from South Wales, he went through the bike fitted a oil pump and gear, rebuilt my carbs and set my pwk28 to take oil feed so I can run a pump properly, fitted a coolflow head and overflow header tank.

The bike now runs great and starts first time every kick, he needs to move nearer the midlands to make it easier to get my bike done in the future 🙂

Laurie Hughes / AKA Fozzy17

Well chuffed with the work carried out on my 385 hybrid.
Dave kept me informed all through the process.

It was completed on time, to a great standard and at a reasonable cost.

Matt / Yogi

He’s that good I send my carbs to him from Australia!

Top bloke.

Paul in Perth Australia / June 2018

Dave definitely knows his stuff where 2-strokes are concerned.

He has done some great work for me including engine and fork rebuilds, and a host of other stuff including carb strip downs etc. He always has time to offer advice and encouragement for your own project.

Highly recommended.

Shaun Murphy / May 2018

Dave diagnosed and fixed a knocking engine in my stock 1982 350LC. Throughout the whole process, from delivery to completion Dave communicated regularly with updates. He treats each job as if it were is own bike.

Thoroughly professional and I would recommend his knowledge and skills to any two stroke enthusiast. Great job.
